Yeah, let’s not celebrate in the streets just yet nor decry this as the biggest failure since Mamma Joe Lieberman opened her legs and begged to be plowed like a field of wheat. It galls to me think I was actually an apologist for this political hoodlum at one point. I guess I have to eat it for defending someone with “Lie” actually in their name…
Oh, and for RightBloggerPat and all the other tea baggers out there. Stay Classy!
Incidentally, while efforts have been made to clean it up, Boston Harbor was once one of the most polluted harbors in the nation (which you can see depicted in the above video where four cups of tea are evidently enough to make the entire Atlantic run with the color of freedom: Baby Shit Brown!). If that doesn’t carry metaphorical implications for the mishmash of political yahoo-ery that is the Tea Party nonsense, then I’ll be a monkey’s uncle.

Hey, now! Got to love the schoolhouse rock!
Yea, the Democrats did something really great. If only the Senate can finish the job and go back to the house one more time we will be a giant step closer to the model of universal health care every other industrialized country takes for granted.
It only took us a hundred years, although Nixon offered us a similar plan but Ted Kennedy killed it hoping to get something better. Bill Clinton tried his best but nothing happened until President Obama put it all on the line for the uninsured.
Senator Kennedy went on to passionately fight for health care with a big regret for not accepting Nixon’s deal. As Kennedy was very ill last year he came to Washington D.C. against his doctors advice to cast the deciding vote on a Medicare bill. He put the health needs of America’s seniors ahead of his own well being and made the trip.
Now we need to tell our Senators and the 40 some pro choice members of congress with second thoughts to finish the job and send this to Obama to sign.
