I always think it says Librarian.

Hmm, a Libertarian liberal. I can live with that, I suppose. Although, I have to say, I’m starting to feel like all of this is akin to a game of Dungeons and Dragons, where people squabble over what alignments actually mean and when or if someone is playing their character like it should be played.

And would it be so wrong if it DID say “librarian”?

LOL the viewpoints are similar. You shouldn’t meet too many fascist librarians.

The quiz said I was a effete fascist tool. Quizzes rock!

Doug: Absolutely nothing would be wrong if it said librarian. I’ve even considered looking into that career path. I just had no idea they were a voting bloc.

JiL: I always knew you were a fascist.

Libertarian Librarians? Lovely alliteration. I suppose they’d believe that everything works best when left alone… as long as it’s quiet and properly categorized.

I’m not crazy about some of the options for answers (the gun ownership question in particular, and really I think liberty and equality are inseparable) but come ON. I’m a progressive liberal?

    pfft.

I came out libertarian, with conservative second. And like Jamie said, some of the answers were insufficient, such as healthcare and global warming. And as for the gun question, the answers weren’t mutually exlusive. For example, I believe the Second Amendment should be repealed, only because the wording has given all sides of the issue to interpret it according to what they feel it should say (which makes it ultra useless), but it doesn’t give any insight as to what one’s view of gun control actually is.

I got disgusted with the test about two questions into it. Labels can be useful, but in that test they are forcing you to take labels that don’t necessarily fit. I’ve always considered myself a moderate Democrat (a Clinton democrat. A pragmatist, without the sleezy sex); the test didn’t have many answers that fit me.

[...] As I already subscribe to more blogs than I can ever possibly read, I didn’t tempt fate by searching Technorati for any more reading material to stash away for retirement. However, I did run a quick search on ‘librarian’, and unexpectedly found this entry, where a blogger who completed an online political ideology quiz notes the similarity of the words ‘libertarian’ and ‘librarian’. I made a brief comment to the effect of their similarity not only being skin deep, however I wouldn’t want anyone to think we’re too libertarian (refer to my earlier post on censorship). [...]
